Dean of Students - Probationay

 

• Baldwin High School
• 10.5 month position
• Reports to Building Principal      
• Starting July 1, 2024
  
  RESPONSIBILITIES:    
• Facilitate all matters pertaining to the assigned grade level of students, including but not limited to, attendance, behavior, academics, extracurricular activities, student and staff safety
• Respond to referrals made by staff on student discipline and conduct during lunch, hall duty, dismissal, after school and other times designated by the building principal and assistant principals
• Conduct mediations/restorative practices for students 
• Counsel/interact with individual students on discipline/behavioral issues
• Enforcement of the School Code of Conduct
• Participate in the development, modification, maintenance, and implementation of Attendance Policy & Practice
• Supervision of AM and PM detention/separation/community service
• Supervise and coordinate entry and dismissal process and hallway passing time
• Collaborate with the building principal and assistant principals in the daily management of the building for a safe school environment
• Perform teacher observations
• Other duties as required and assigned by the building principal

Job Qualifications

• Experience with handling social emotional needs of students
• Bilingual Spanish Preferred
• A valid New York State School Building Leader Certification
