Job Description

Supervisor of Special Education Grades 9-12

LOCATION: Baldwin High School
WORK YEAR: 10.5 Months
EFFECTIVE: 2025-2026 School Year
JOB DUTIES:

• Responsible for organizing secondary annual reviews and overseeing the secondary CSE process 
• Chair CSE meetings 
• Assist with the hiring process for secondary special education staff 
• Ensure IEP mandates and services are implemented on the secondary level 
• Supervise high school special education teacher aides 
• Conduct teacher observations using the Danielson Rubric 
• Collaborating with building administration and staff to arrange for test accommodations for midterms, finals, and Regent exams.  
• Establish relationships with parents, guardians, students, and colleagues 
• Mentor new staff 

Job Qualifications

• NYS SBL Certification and either Special Education/Students with Disabilities or School Psychologist Certification 
• Effective communication skills 
• Highly organized and efficient 
• Knowledge of Part 200 special education laws and regulations 
• Knowledge of high school curriculum and special education instruction
• NYS Fingerprint Clearance
