SCHOOL GUIDANCE COUNSELOR

POSITION:            Guidance Counselor (Probationary)
LOCATION:           Baldwin Middle School
HOURS:                School days
EFFECTIVE:         Immediate
REPORTS TO:      Middle School Administration
REQUIREMENTS:  NYS School Counselor Certification, bilingual preferred
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Has an understanding of the needs of a diverse population,
• Willing to familiarize themselves with the implementation of the scheduling process,
• Is able to effectively intervene with at-risk students academically and socially,
• Participate in special education conferences: CSE, CST, and Section 504,
• Communicate with parents and appropriate professional staff to discuss student needs and progress,
• Have strong interpersonal communication skills with parents, students, teachers and administrators,
• Collaborate with staff and administration to promote and maintain a sound learning environment,
• Other duties as assigned by the principal and/ or supervising administrator.
