Job Description

Speech and Language Therapist- Probationary

EFFECTIVE: 2025-2026 School Year
LOCATION: Meadow Elementary and Baldwin Middle School
REPORTS TO: Building Administrators
WORK YEAR: 10-Month
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluate, assess and screen students using appropriate standardized testing and clinical observation skills
• Provide speech/language therapy according to students' IEP's
• Create and monitor goals
• Work cohesively with school programs on coordination of speech-language services from school to home
• Assist with the reduction of inappropriate behaviors through positive reinforcement and ABA strategies
• Collaborate with teaching and support staff to plan and implement targeted instruction to ensure generalization of skills

Job Qualifications

• NYS Certification in Speech and Language pending or issued
• NYS Fingerprint Clearance
• Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication Devices preferred
• ABA experience preferred
