TEMPORARY HEAD COOK
LOCATION: Baldwin High School HOURS: 10 Month Schedule; 6:30 AM - 2:00 PM EFFECTIVE: Immediately REPORTS TO: Cook Manager, Building Administration, Assistant Superintendent for Business and Administrative Services RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision, the duties require the use of judgement in preparing and cooking food for large groups
Supervising subordinate personnel
Prepares and cooks meat, fish, poultry, soup, vegetables, salads, rolls, cakes, pies and other foods
Assists in the planning of menus and the purchasing of food
Supervises the cleaning of the kitchen and storage areas
Inspects and maintains inventory of food and supplies
Coordinates food deliveries for all buildings
Coordinates attendance and coverages
Maintains time records of all employees
Considerable knowledge of the materials, methods, and equipment used in large scale food preparation and cooking
Knowledge of the principles of dietetics and nutrition
Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
Ability to apply established safety and sanitation precautions and regulations
Ability to use and care for kitchen equipment and appliances
Ability to follow oral and written directions
One year of satisfactory experience in the large-scale preparation of food
