2025-2026 Library Media Teacher- Probationary

LOCATION: Secondary Schools
EFFECTIVE: 2025-2026 School Year
WORK YEAR: 10-Month
REPORTS TO: Principal and Assistant Principals

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Providing students with an enriched library environment containing a wide variety of print and media materials.
• Collaborating with teachers to design and deliver information, literacy, and research skills instruction to students.
• Teaching students how to effectively search for, evaluate, and use information from various sources.
• Assisting students in developing skills to use reference materials to complete class assignments.
• Integrating instructional technology tools and resources into the library to enhance learning and research opportunities.
• Cataloging, organizing, and maintaining the library collection, including physical and digital resources.
• Implementing effective circulation procedures to ensure access to materials for both students and staff.
• Facilitating overall operation of the library.

Job Qualifications

• NYS certification as Library Media Specialist
• NYS Fingerprint clearance
